Inventions and Products Developed:

Arsenic Analyzer Kit- Field test kit for rapid and quantitative arsenic measurement in drinking water. The kit can be used for measurement of arsenic levels in food products, drugs, hair, nails, etc.

Fluoride Analyzer Kit- Rapid and reliable analysis of fluoride content in drinking water; sensitive and reliable method, can determine fluoride by colour development, down to 0.1 PPM.

Nitrate Analyzer Kit- This Drinking water field kit can analyze Nitrate (Yes-No type) by colour development. This method can analyze even 0.1 PPM Nitrate using spectrophotometer.

Ion-Selective Electrodes- Sensitive Ion electrodes for many inorganic ions including Nitrate, Fluoride, Chloride, Cyanide, Bromide, Calcium, Iodide, Potassium, etc.

Removal of Arsenic from Drinking water- About 30-40 million people living in West-Bengal (India), Bangladesh and certain other regions of the globe receive their water supply from tube wells contaminated with excessive levels of arsenic (WHO permitted level is 10 PPB). De-arsenation technique developed by Dr. Nambiar is based on the ability of certain bacteria to immobilize arsenic which adsorbs on some solid adsorbents. The De-arsenation unit based on this method is being fabricated for large-scale implementation.

De-Toxification of arsenicosis- Arsenic poison accumulated in the body can be possibly removed by treatment with ferous sulphate tablets as suggested by Dr. Nambiar. This method was succefully used by some reputed hospitals in some acute arsenic poison cases. The Sulphate Reducing Bacteria present in the colon produce ferous sulphide, which has got spiral structure and immense adsorption power. Toxic elements are removed from the body along with the ferrous sulphide.

Alternate and ancient medicine- Dr. Nambiar has kept his interests in ancient system of medicine and herbal formulations as a hobby. His current interest includes herbal medicines and formulations for treatment of viral diseases. Certain methodologies in combination with herbal formulations have been used for treatment of Hepatitis (A, B, and C) under strict medical supervision and monitoring. Based on herbal formulations trials are being conducted to treat Dengue Fever.
